“I hoped we were friends." Kristin looked at the ground. "I’m not ready for a boyfriend.”
Chad looked at her sheepishly. “Not even me?”
“Nobody, Chad. Long story short, I’m just not able to start a relationship right now. I’d love it if we can be friends, though. I can sure use a friend.” She crinkled her adorable nose.
“Friends, then. But if you ever change your mind…”
She punched his arm. “Thanks for the offer, Wrangler Guy.”
Ahh, a pet name. Things are looking up.
